Television Celebrity Chef Marcus Samuelsson from Aquavit joins other celebrity chefs; Food and Wine Magazine Rising Chef Anita Lo, famed chef Mark Murphy (Landmarc Restaurant), Sue Torres chef/owner of Sueños, Jason Denton chef/owner Inoteca and Ino, Sheron Barnes owner of Baton Rouge, Mo Bays uptown and Arlene Weston of Maroons, and over 50 other chefs and wine merchants will create a platform for over 75 culinary students from multiple area schools while being mentored in their restaurants for the ultimate culinary experience. The event is schedule to take place on Thursday September 28th, at Tavern on the green.“There is no other event that increases the awareness and importance of penetrating the diversity market for wine merchants while sharing a powerful platform for celebrity chefs to share and pass on their electricity with the next generation of hospitality professionals” comments Alex Askew President of the BCA. BOUT THE BCAThe The BCA is a National non-profit foodservice, hospitality and educational networking organization. BCA's mission is to create awareness, exposure and educational opportunities for people of color within the profession and to provide a vehicle to support the development of young people who are considering culinary arts and/or hospitality as a career.The purpose of this event is to provide a canvas for culinary students of color to work in the company of serious wine and food professionals, and learn the mechanics of catering an event of this scope. Folks attending this event will experience an exciting new approach to Food and Wine pairing increasing awareness in the infinite possibilities.
